2023 Ford F-150 Heritage | Packey Webb | Downers Grove, IL

The 2023 Ford F-150 is coming soon, and it’s bringing yet another awesome new option to the table. Joining the new 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler trim will be a special Heritage Edition that celebrates 75 years of excellence for the F-Series.

Ford announced the Heritage Edition as a new package option for the 2023 F-150 XLT. While it’ll leave most of the equipment and features of the F-150 XLT intact, it’ll add one particularly cool feature: a two-tone colorway inspired by classic trucks from the 1970s and ’80s.

The 2023 Ford F-150 Heritage Edition comes in three combinations. Every truck features an A-B-A pattern with one color on the upper and lower elements and one color in the middle of the vehicle.

  • Antimatter Blue in the middle with Carbonized Gray on the top and bottom
  • Area 51 in the middle with Agate Black on the top and bottom
  • Atlas Blue in the middle with Agate Black on the top and bottom
  • Avalanche in the middle with Agate Black on the top and bottom
  • Race Red in the middle with Carbonized Gray on the top and bottom

Ford hasn’t revealed yet how much the Heritage Edition will cost, but the order banks should be open for the 2023 F-150 before the end of the month. If you’d like to learn more or order yours, contact the sales team at Packey Webb Ford in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Fall Driving Safety Tips for Downers Grove, IL

Fall Driving Tips | Packey Webb Ford | Downers Grove, IL

The autumn can be a beautiful, charming time in Downers Grove, Illinois, but it also presents unique challenges on the road. By refreshing yourself on a few helpful safety tips, you’ll ready to enjoy fall driving to the fullest.

Check your lights

Daylight saving time will be permanent starting in 2023, but we’ll still have to deal with a time change in November. Because you may wind up driving in the dark more regularly than you are now, it’s a great time to check your exterior lights — including headlamps, fog lights, taillamps, and brake lights — to make sure everything is in good working condition.

Put rubber to the road

Rainy weather combined with fallen leaves can make for surprisingly treacherous driving. Make sure that your tires and brakes are up for the challenge before you set out. Check your tire pressure, look for signs of wear that could mean you’re due for a new set of four, and be mindful of signs that you might need new brakes.

Critical maintenance like battery testing, oil changes, and more are also key to safety when it comes to fall driving. Contact the service pros at Packey Webb Ford and we’ll get you on the path to enjoying autumn to the fullest.

Ford Joins First Movers Coalition

Ford Joins Coalition | Packey Webb Ford | Downers Grove, IL

Ford continues to demonstrate its commitment to protecting our planet and making a better tomorrow through action and deed. Recently, Ford announced that it will join the First Movers Coalition, a movement to use purchasing power and supply chains to push for cleaner energy.

The First Movers Coalition currently consists of 50 companies from around the globe. Valued at a combined $8.5 trillion, this coalition will use its economic might to advocate for clean energy technology. Ford is contributing to this cause with a pledge to purchase at least 10% near-zero carbon steel and aluminum by 2030.

Ford has even larger goals in sight. The automaker has set forth science-based goals for temperature reduction for 2035 and plans to be carbon neutral by no later than 2050.

“Reducing emissions to carbon neutral by 2050 is possible if we invest in the right technologies and bring them to scale within the next decade,” said Ford Director of Supply Chain Sustainability Sue Slaughter.

Ford is also committing to a cleaner tomorrow with more sustainable vehicles like the F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E. If you plan to go electric sometime in the near future, contact the sales team at Packey Webb Ford in Downers Grove, Illinois.

How to Transport a Kayak with Your Ford Truck

Transporting With Trucks | Packey Webb Ford | Downers Grove, IL

In Downers Grove, you’re a hop, skip, and jump away from some good kayaking spots like Whalon Lake and Channahon State Park. Before you set out on any kind of kayaking adventure in your Ford truck, you’ll want to know how to transport your gear safely.

Accessorize

The easiest, simplest way to secure a kayak using your Ford truck is to get the right accessories. Whether you drive a Ford Maverick, Ranger, F-150, or Super Duty, you can pick from a range of available racks and carriers perfect for the job.

One of the most unique options you can choose is the Yakima hitch-mounted rack extension, which lets you safely transport two kayaks above bed level. You can also purchase roof rack and rail systems from Thule that are compatible with a huge range of accessories including a folding kayak carrier, canoe carriers, and cargo boxes.

Use the bed

If you don’t want to get any accessories for your Ford truck just yet, you can also take advantage of your pickup bed. While kayaks likely won’t lie flat in your truck bed, you can position them safely by angling the stern into the front left corner and lining up the bow with the tailgate at the opposite end. Then, use the bed’s tie-downs and buckle straps to lock the kayaks firmly in place.

Need help transporting kayaks in your Ford truck — or a new Ford truck in which to transport your kayak? Look no further than Packey Webb Ford in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Tips for Hauling with Your New Ford F-150

Hauling With F-150 | Packey Webb Ford | Downers Grove, IL

If you’re looking for a truck that does some heavy-duty hauling, the 2022 Ford F-150 is unsurpassed. The new 2022 Ford F-150 offers best-in-class towing up to 14,000 pounds[1] and best-in-class payload up to 3,325 pounds.[2] But even with all that power, you’ll need to know a few tips for using your truck properly.

Do your research

While those max numbers are certainly impressive, every version of the F-150 offers slightly different capacities based on its engine, cab style, bed size, and so on. Before you hook up a trailer or put something heavy in the truck bed, make sure you check your owner’s manual or doorjamb and see what you can carry.

Use the tools at your disposal

If you’re getting a new 2022 Ford F-150, towing and hauling is easy even if it’s your first time. The new F-150 offers advanced features like Smart Hitch and Smart Trailer Tow Connector, which make hooking up a trailer surprisingly easy. With available Onboard Scales, your F-150 can tell you exactly how much weight is being carried in the bed so that you don’t have to guess how close you are to maxing out on payload.

And there’s even more where that came from. The new F-150 even gives you confidence for maneuvering with a trailer attached thanks to features like Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ and Trailer Sway Control. If you want a truck for hauling, the 2022 Ford F-150 is tops in more ways than one.

Check out the new F-150 at Packey Webb Ford in Downers Grove, Illinois, and see for yourself why Ford has been the first name in all things truck for almost 50 years.

Introducing the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Mega Power Frunk

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning | Packey Webb Ford | Downers Grove, IL

The 2022 F-150 Lightning is the groundbreaking new all-electric pickup truck Ford, and thanks to its lack of an engine, it comes with an exciting feature: the Mega Power Frunk.

Ford took customer feedback into consideration when designing the frunk — or front trunk — on the F-150 Lightning. Customers were eager to have a pickup truck with lockable storage, better for protecting valuables than the typical truck bed.

Ford customers wanted ample space with the F-150 Lightning, and Ford has delivered with the Mega Power Frunk. The largest front trunk of any truck in the industry, the F-150 Lightning Mega Power Frunk is designed to be asymmetrical, capable of fitting two golf bags, but it’s perfect for all kinds of luggage.

And that’s not the only way the Mega Power Frunk is super versatile. The frunk comes with four electrical outlets and two USB charging ports. It also has lights in the hood to light up the cargo space, rather than inside the frunk, to keep cargo from blocking the lights.

Ford has guaranteed that the Mega Power Frunk is as functional and convenient as possible, sporting a rubberized floor with drainage so you can easily clean out any spills. You can even access the frunk with the FordPass app on your phone, one of six different ways to open the hood of the frunk.

The Mega Power Frunk is just one of the many, many reasons to check out the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. It’ll be arriving in the spring of this year, and you can learn more about this game-changer by contacting the team at Packey Webb Ford in Downers Grove, Illinois.

2022 Ford Bronco Raptor | Packey Webb Ford | Downers Grove, IL

Nothing screams adventure and excitement better than the Ford Bronco, and Ford recently revealed a small sneak peek into a Bronco special edition model that will elevate the excitement and enhance the adventure. Ford announced that it will unveil the Ford Bronco Raptor in 2022, taking its Built Wild™ SUV up to an entirely new level.

A short teaser video contains a close-up of the grille that contains all-caps Ford lettering, the Raptor logo, and a bright Code Orange exterior. Other than what we see in the video, the details about the exciting Bronco Raptor are sparse, but we can speculate about what the Bronco Raptor will have to offer based on the features of the Ford F-150 Raptor. Distinct features of the high-performance variant of the F-150 include a higher-output engine and FOX™ Live Valve™ shocks, so we can probably see those translated over to the Bronco Raptor as well.

Ford says it will reveal the Bronco Raptor sometime in 2022, so we don’t have too much longer to wait.

As we eagerly wait for more details about the Bronco Raptor, we have received some updates about the 2022 Ford Bronco’s color choices. As a callback to the Mallard Green paint featured on first-generation Bronco models created in the 1970s, the new 2022 Ford Bronco will be available in Eruption Green Metallic. The Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat will also be new for the 2022 model year.

Fall Car Maintenance Tips in Downers Grove, IL

The weather is getting colder at long last, and the leaves are changing color. Fall is here, and that means it’s time as well for some key car maintenance — especially if you’re planning on taking a big autumn road trip from Downers Grove, Illinois.

Battery

Changing temps can take a toll on your battery, especially if it’s older. If you haven’t replaced your car battery in the last 3-5 years, bring your vehicle to Packey Webb Ford for an inspection. Older batteries can die without warning, leaving you stranded at an inopportune moment.

Tires

You should take care of your tires every season, but it’s especially important in the fall. Wet leaves and falling temperatures can make it difficult to maintain control of your vehicle, so it’s crucial that your tires have enough tread, are properly inflated, and are rotated regularly.

Oil change

Has it been a while since your last oil change? Sticking with the recommended schedule for oil and filter changes keeps your engine clean and healthy, giving you confidence as you get out there and enjoy all that fall fun.

Trust the experts at Packey Webb Ford with all your fall car maintenance needs. You can schedule your next visit online or by calling us at 630-324-0809.
